We play in the Gold Coast Rugby Union Premier Competition, catering for all ages and skill levels, from serious to social, Griffith Uni Colleges RUC always welcomes any new rugby players to the Gold Coast who want play some great rugby, have a fantastic time and experience Rugby Knights style!

We have been the Club champions for the last 4 Consecutive seasons as well as 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 Gold Coast Rugby Union First Grade premiers.

GOLD COAST SENIOR MENS RUGBY UNION

The Griffith University Colleges Knights Rugby Union Club are a club that competes in the Gold Coast and District Rugby Union Competition.

Our club has a number of Gold Coast Rugby Union Senior Men’s Teams – Colts, 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade and 1st Grade.

In 2023 Our Senior Mens teams again performed at the top of their game with 3rd grade coming in Runners up in the GCRU comp and 1st Graders taking out the Championship for the 3rd straight Season! $🏆 PATRICK SHARPE MEMORIAL AWARD – JUNIOR CLUBMAN OF THE YEAR 🏆This year, Griffith Uni Knights was incredibly proud to present Xavier Cox with the Patrick Sharpe Memorial Award, Junior Clubman of the Year.Many within our wider Knights community may not know that three months ago, Xavier suffered a serious injury while playing the game he loves, fracturing his T12, L1, L2 and L3 vertebrae in his lower spine.The months that have followed have undoubtedly been some of the most challenging Xavier and his family have faced. Yet throughout his recovery, Xavier has shown extraordinary resilience, courage, strength and maturity well beyond his years.But this award recognises so much more than the courage Xavier has shown through his injury. Despite being unable to take the field, Xavier has never stopped being part of his team. He has continued to turn up to training, watch from the sidelines, encourage his teammates, support his coaches and remain involved with his club in every way he can. Even when he couldn’t pull on the jersey himself, he continued to show up for the people wearing it.That is the true meaning of a clubman!! A clubman is someone who turns up even when they cannot play. Someone who celebrates their teammates’ successes, stands beside them through the difficult moments and puts their team and their club before themselves. It is about loyalty, commitment, character and heart. And throughout the past three months, Xavier has embodied every one of those qualities and shown exactly what it means to be a Knight.Xavier, your strength throughout your recovery and your unwavering commitment to your teammates and club have inspired so many within our Knights family. We could not think of a more deserving recipient of this very special award.Congratulations, Xav. We are incredibly proud to have you as part of the Knights family, and we know the whole club will be cheering you on in 2027 when hopefully, we get to see you back where you belong....out on the field alongside your teammates!!Once a Knight, always a Knight. ⚔️$

Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible dads and fatherly figures who are such an important part of our Knights family. To the dads, stepdads, grandads, uncles, coaches, mentors and all those who step up and show up, thank you.Behind so many of our players is someone who has been there quietly supporting them every step of the way. Someone who gets them to the early morning games, stands on the sideline in every kind of weather, celebrates the wins, lifts them after the losses and reminds them to keep going when things get tough.Because one day, our kids might not remember every score, every try or every game they played… but they’ll remember who was standing on the sideline cheering for them. They’ll remember the car rides, the encouragement, the laughs, the advice and knowing that someone was always there in their corner.Thank you for giving your time, your love and so much of yourselves to our players and our club.
